“Discover the Power of Automated Updates for Your Gentoo Linux System: Show Your Support Now!”
Show Your Support: This website relies heavily on advertisements for daily maintenance. These ads have kept us running for over 19 years. Our team works diligently to ensure that only clean and relevant ads are displayed. In case of any problematic ads, we immediately remove them. If you want to support our work and get an ad-free viewing experience, consider our Phoronix Premium option.
Thanks to the Google Summer of Code (GSoC), a talented student developer took the initiative to create an automated system updater for Gentoo Linux. Say goodbye to the tedious task of manually updating your Gentoo system and welcome gentoo_update. Thanks to Stepan Kulikov “LabBrat”, users can now easily roll out security updates and save time on system maintenance. To learn more, check out the final GSoC report on the Gentoo auto-updater.
You can find gentoo_update on GitHub, where the code is being actively maintained. By default, it only deploys security updates from the Gentoo Linux Security Advisories (GLSA), but it can also keep all system packages up-to-date if needed.
